333I saw this on Fictional Skylines (a blog which I recommend checking out), and decided I want to give it a try. The original post for this is here. I love tags like these, because they’re fun to read and write, but they’re also a really good way to get to know me/blog owners.

  • Do you have a certain place at home for reading?

I don’t have a particular place, but there are definitely some places that I like better than others. In particular, my bed. I love reading in bed because it’s warm, comfy, private, and quiet. When I’m home alone, I’lleither be outside (with my bunnies) or sitting at the kitchen table. Other times, I sit on the couch.

  • Bookmark or random piece of paper?

Depends what’s closest. I have plenty of bookmarks, but when I was at school and didn’t have any handy I’d just rip up a piece of paper and forget about it. But if I don’t like the paper or if I have a bookmark close, I’ll usually grab that.

  • Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop after a chapter/ a certain amount of pages?

I usually like to stop at the end of a chapter, but sometimes I pull the “one more chapter” thing and end up so tired half way through the chapter that I’ll have to stop on that page. If this happens, I like to end up the top of the left page so I can find my place easily when I come back.

  • Do you eat or drink while reading?

I try to, but I don’t like it. The idea of food near my books is a no-no. I don’t want greasy fingers touching my precious babies. I don’t like the thought of crumbs being on my pages and ending up in the middle of the book. I think it’s disgusting. Drinking’s fine though. I’m often drinking tea when I read. Tea and water are the only drinks I have when reading. I avoid fizzy drink (I think American’s call it soda or pop or something) because I worry about spilling it on the page.

  • Multitasking: Music or TV while reading?

Who the hell watches TV and reads? I can’t. I get so distracted. However, I listen to music for literally everything. Hell, I’m listening to music right now. However, there are some songs that I have to stop reading so I can grove along.

  • One book at a time or several at once?

I like one at a time, but sometimes I get bored of a book or get into a reading slump and have to put it down. Right now, I’m reading 3 books (Heir of Fire, the Fall of Five, and Mark of Athena) but I’ll only read them one at a time (I’ll finish HoF, then go back to MoA, then FoF. I won’t alternate between chapters or anything).

  • Reading at home or everywhere?

I prefer home, however there are some instances when I’ll be reading at the library. I prefer the privacy of home.

  • Reading out lout or silently in your head?

In my head. Ain’t no way I’d read any Chaolaena scene’s out loud. Keep that shit to myself.

  • Do you read ahead or even skip pages?

Sometimes, when something really exciting is happening I’ll skip to the bottom of the page to see what happens. I hate myself for it, but lack of control.

  • Breaking the spine or keeping it like new?

I’ve mastered the art of reading my books barely open to keep the spines nice.

  • Do you write in your books?

No. I wish I could. I wish I could put in a sticky note so I could find my favourite scenes again, or quote. I tend to write my favourite quotes on a piece of paper, and remember the page number of my favourite scenes. I’d like to be able to write on books but I think they’re so beautiful that I can’t do it. I feel like the ones that have been written on looked more loved. I wouldn’t even know what to write.

  • Who do you tag?

I’m new to the book blogging community so I’m going to tag my twitter pals who blog: Isha and Reign.
