my friend taryn recommended that i read never never, as i was looking for short books to read. i’m currently in a reading slump (which i tried denying at first), and shorter books are more bearable than long ones. it still took me a bit to work my way through this book, but i rather enjoyed it considering it’s a contemporary!

one of my favourite things about this book is the intense storyline. i think it’s somewhat mystery because of the whole “we’ve woken up with no memory” thing. in all honesty, i thought they’d switched bodies at first. i was intrigued from the beginning because of the plot. however most of the story was boring and dragged on (with irrelevant information that i didn’t care about), the mystery itself made it worth reading. and it’s really short, i think removing this boring stuff would’ve made the book like 10 pages! most of the good stuff happened at the very end.

one thing i didn’t like about this book is how annoying and boring the characters were. i felt no connection to them. plus the constant switching pov thing really threw me off. i kept reading it as charlie’s pov when it’d changed to silas’ and vise versa.

even though this book is really short, instalove was bound to be present. because the book dragged, it didn’t feel as bad as other novels i’ve read, but the book covers something like 3 days. (slight spoiler??) the cheating also really annoyed me. it made me feel like the characters were very immature, yet they were considered to still love each other????? it didn’t really make much sense to me.

i know this review is pretty negative, but i still want to read the other books – i want to find out more of the mystery. my rating of this book is 3.5 stars.
