Summary: The sixth book in the thrilling, action-packed, New York Times bestselling I Am Number Four series! For years the Garde have fought the Mogadorians in secret. Now all of that has changed. The invasion has begun. If the Garde can’t find a way to stop the Mogs, humanity will suffer the same fate as the Lorien: annihilation.
There is still hope. When the Elders sent the Garde to Earth, they had a plan—one which the Garde are finally starting to understand. In the climax of The Revenge of Seven, a group of the Garde traveled to an ancient pyramid in Mexico known to their people as the Sanctuary. There they awoke a power that had been hidden within our planet for generations. Now this power can save the world . . . or destroy it. It will all depend on who wields it.
putting it honestly, i found the fate of ten to be an absolute waste of time to read. it didn’t add anything interesting to the story, and neither did the revenge of seven. they were okay reads, for sure, but if felt like they were written to sell more books rather than for a good story.
john continued to annoy me. he’s become such a mary sue (gary sue?). i think i mentioned this in a previous review but i don’t care. he needs to die already. let six tell the story.
i really loved six and adam in this book. adam has become such a favourite of mine. i don’t see much love for him by other fans when he really deserves it. he’s come a long way and has further to go. i can’t wait to see what happens in united as one. and the same with six. she’s developed quite a lot and become very mature. i feel her romance with sam is just boring and unneeded.
there are a few things that happen in this book (no spoilers, i promise) that i feel was unnecessary and made the storyline rather ridiculous to read. it just seems like added disappointment to try make it more interesting (it didn’t).
the overall writing for this book has improved since the previous one, which i like but it still took me a while to get through. these books aren’t particularly long but they’re also not quick reads. it’s unfortunate that this book felt like a cash grab. i can’t wait to finish this series and be done with it.
