this book meme is hosted by Taking on a World of Words. this post just answers the 3 questions below. istg i suck at keeping up with these weekly things. if you’ve done this post, feel free to link it in the comments!
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
i started magnus chase and the sword of summer a while ago but i ended up putting it down for some other books. i’ve come back to read it now though as i plan on reading the hammer of thor next.
i didn’t particularly like the beginning of this novel. i couldn’t get into it and i didn’t find magnus that great of a person. i’m somewhere over 60 pages in right now, and it’s definitely picked up a lot.
i’ve been dying to read this book since the day it came out. i love norse mythology so much (i have the vikings tv show to thank for that). i’ve done so much research into the viking period. i’m not sure why i didn’t start it sooner tbh, especially since rick riordan is one of my fav authors.
i recently finished reading the i am number four series. i binge read the last three books. in all honesty, they were a huge let down. i remember this series being one of my favourite science fiction books ever, but the writing style was so bad (by that, i mean plain and boring) it feels like it’s written by a completely different author.
i’m happy to have read the books and found out what happens in the end though, i just wish this series wasn’t extended to so many books (there’s 7). i would have preferred if the revenge of seven, the fate of ten and united as one were put into one book or maybe two. it honestly feels like a money grab with how thin the plot was spread. this could’ve been one epic series but instead it was a huge let down.
reviews for the fate of ten and united as one will be posted soon.
(thanks penguin random house nz for sending me a copy of united as one to review!)
i plan on reading magnus chase and the hammer of thor next. i’m really bad at sticking to tbr lists, but i need to read this book asap. i love rick riordan’s writing too much to leave this series any longer.
(honestly, look at the cover, isn’t it beautiful?????)
(again, thanks penguin random house nz for sending me a copy of the hammer of thor to review!)
